


IB has Certificate Programme besides Diploma Programme.Therefore, student’s involvement in IB does not cause student to become unsuccessful or to get lower grade point average. All the students are assessed equally based on the criteria set by the Ministry of National Education. A student’s involvement in IB Diploma Programme does not affect his/her grade point average.IBDP students take all the courses that are set out in the National Curriculum for grades 11 and 12.

IBDP students are also expected to complete the requirements of the National Curriculum. Important Information about the Implementation of IB Diploma Programme in General and in Our School Any student who satisfies IBDP requirements is entitled to the IB diploma that is recognized worldwide besides the high school diploma.These courses equip IBDP students with the knowledge required for both IB Diploma and the diploma granted by the Ministry of National Education (thus for YGS and LYS).One course from Group 3 is taken as elective by Science-Mathematics Students. Group 1 : Language A – Turkish Language and Literature HL Courses Offered to Turkish-Mathematics StudentsĬourses Offered to Science- Mathematics Students Students can take 2 standard level (SL), 4 higher level (HL) or 3 standard level (SL) and 3 higher level (HL) courses in IB Diploma Programme. ToK “Theory of Knowledge” course that is included in IB Diploma Program core is compulsory for all students. Besides that, while one (1) course from group 3 or 6 can be taken as “Elective” by Turkish-Mathematics students, Chemistry course from group 4 can be taken as “Elective” by Science-Mathematics students. It is compulsory for students to select one (1) course from each subject group starting from group 1 to group 5. 6 subject groups are offered to students in IB Diploma Programme.
